GCSI Cleans Up On MIRS Survey

Governmental Consultant Services, Inc. (GCSI) is Lansing’s most effective multi-client lobbying firm and employs three of the city’s four most effective multi-client lobbyists, according to a survey conducted by MIRS with results tabulated by EPIC/MRA.

Of the 300 Lansing insiders who returned surveys, 43 percent felt GCSI was the best multi-client firm.

The most effective individual lobbyist honors this year went to GCSI’s Stephen YOUNG, whose 15 percent edged GCSI colleague Nell KUHNMUENCH, who received top honors in the 2003 survey and finished second in this year’s survey with 13 percent.  GCSI Partner Michael HAWKS was fourth with 6 percent.

The survey was sent to over 600 individuals who work in or closely follow state government. Printed copies were mailed to all department directors and legislative liaisons, all members of the Legislature and all non-state government MIRS subscribers, which includes a broad swath of university officials, corporate lobbyists, labor officials, and folks within the state’s various trade groups.
