Mr. Van Singel served for 20 years as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, the last 10 as Republican Floor Leader. During his legislative tenure, he served on the committees on Conservation, Recreation & Environment … Tax Policy … and Oversight. He was state legislative chairman of the American Legislative Exchange Council for seven years and received that organization’s legislative Leader of the Year Award in 1992.
